High Speed Automatic Bottle Feeder Machine

Preventing bottle jamming is a critical factor in ensuring the smooth operation of an oral liquid filling machine. To avoid bottle squeezing or collision, it is essential to maintain proper spacing and orderly movement between bottles during the conveying process. At the same time, to achieve higher production efficiency, bottles are typically conveyed closely in sequence. The key to achieving jam‑free operation lies in the bottle feeding system. In the oral liquid filling machine industry, three main feeding methods are commonly used.

Filling machines can also be classified in different ways, continuous filling machines and intermittent filling machines, linear filling machines and rotary filling machines. These filling systems are widely used in industries such as pharmaceuticals and food processing, for products including injections, oral liquids, syrups, tinctures, spirits, and other liquid formulations.

The three primary bottle feeding methods for filling machines are: screw feeding, rotary table feeding, star wheel (indexting disc) feeding. Among these, screw feeding and turntable feeding are the most widely used. Let’s explore each of these feeding methods in detail.

Screw Feeding

Screw feeding uses a screw conveyor to guide bottles one by one into the infeed star wheel or bottle handling system. This method is highly versatile and effectively prevents bottle accumulation and collision. It is suitable for both linear filling machines and rotary filling machines.
Key features include: uniform screw pitch ensures smooth and stable bottle transfer, reduced vibration during conveying, tapered infeed design for easier bottle entry, gradually increasing thread depth allows bottles to enter smoothly and steadily. This method provides excellent stability and is widely adopted in high-speed production lines.

Rotary Table Feeding

In this method, bottles are transferred into the filling machine using a rotary table. Due to its continuous rotation, this system is mainly used in continuous filling machines.
During operation: bottles are pushed forward by the conveyor belt, they enter arc-shaped grooves on the rotary table, the conveyor direction helps guide and separate the bottles automatically. Once inside the grooves, bottles are separated from others, preventing congestion. This design minimizes resistance during rotation, ensuring smooth and stable machine operation.

Starwheel Feeding

Star wheel feeding uses an indexing disc to transfer bottles into the filling station. Unlike rotary tables, this method operates intermittently, with controlled time intervals between movements.
Key characteristics: Intermittent motion with adjustable timing, timing depends on the rotation speed and arc length of the indexing disc, commonly used in intermittent filling machines, bottle handling principles are similar to rotary table systems. This method provides precise positioning and is suitable for applications requiring accurate indexing.

Each of the above bottle feeding methods has its own advantages, and different filling methods offer distinct characteristics. The most important factor is that users choose the appropriate method based on their specific needs. Only with the right choice can the filling equipment deliver optimal performance.
